Healthy Summer Glow | The Best Tips and Tricks

Summer is a season to go bare – from r clothes, shoes and even r skin. But sadly, not everyone is blessed with natural, glowing skin. Most of us will go the extra mile to achieve a healthy summer glow. What must know is that a healthy summer glow can’t just be pulled off with makeup alone; ’d actually need to resopretty.com/bedtime-skin-care-routine/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>prep r skin too. So how can get that healthy radiant glowing skin this summer? Here’s what need to do:

1. Wear Sunscreen

I know it’s sort of a no-brainer, but ’d be surprised at how many people do not prioritize wearing sunscreen in the summer. The summer sun is unforgiving and ’ll regret leaving r skin unprotected. Facial skin is thin and very sensitive, so any exposure to the sun can easily cause sun spots. Protect r skin with sunscreen. The higher the SPF the better. Apply sunscreen on the face 15 to 20 minutes before stepping out of the house and make sure r skin has absorbed it already too.

2. Drink Alot

If want r skin to be healthy this summer, one of the most important things to do is to drink plenty of water. Hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate ladies! If ’re craving for a bit of flavor, make DIY detox water at home. Citrus fruits are always a good choice for detox water as they’re refreshing and gives a Vitamin C boost that helps r skin too. Just add slices of lime, lemon, and orange into a pitcher of water and cool. Fruit-infused water is great for flushing away free radicals and can really help make the skin look more radiant.

3. Cleanse the Face

Gone were the days when we relied on our Pond’s Cold Cream to take off our makeup. Now, it’s all about the Micellar Cleansing Water. And it’s not just hype beauty lovers, it’s the real deal. Micellar water is composed of micelles that are attracted to dirt and oil, which is why this water makes it very easy to use for removing anything dirty on the face. Plus, it’s non-drying! It is very important to clean the face thoroughly during the summer months as r skin can really take a beating from the sun’s heat and the makeup use daily.

4. Tone

After cleansing the face, need to apply toner. Toner is another important step in r summer skin care regimen especially if want to have healthy skin that naturally glows. People with oily or acne-prone facial skin benefits the most from the extra cleaning that a toner offers. Furthermore, applying toner will help prevent summer breakouts (caused by a dirt-oil-bacteria-sweat combo) and will tighten the pores too.

5. Exfoliate

During the summer months, cannot be complacent. You must not forget to exfoliate r skin. Exfoliating gets rid of the dead skin cells that actually makes r skin looks dull. If want to bring out that glow, exfoliate ladies! It is highly recommended to exfoliate once or twice a week.

While there are plenty of exfoliators in the market today, I highly suggest just make r own at home. Why don’t give this Green Tea Exfoliator a try? All need are 1 tbsp. of dried green tea leaves, 1 c. white/brown sugar, 1/2. extra virgin olive oil, 2 tbsp. honey, and 10 drops of lavender essential oil. This DIY exfoliator will not only slough off dead skin, but it will also help reactive skin cells as well as fight skin damage caused by heat and pollutants.

6. Moisturize

To top off r 3-step skincare regimen, have to moisturize. If have dry skin, the more need to moisturize in the summer. If have oily skin, yes, still have to moisturize, but pick a product formulated for oily skin.

I’m not a fan of applying moisturizer during the day as I find it too sticky especially during the summer. But hey, what can I do? I need to protect my skin! Also, at least twice a week, I wear an intensive moisturizing sleeping mask. At night, r moisturizer will keep r skin’s moisture intact during the repair process. During the day, it helps protect the skin from sun damage. Thus, wearing a day and night moisturizer is a must!

7. Pamper the Skin

Why do think Koreans have that perfectly glowing skin? It is because they pamper their skin! Have heard of their 10-step skincare regimen? Anyhow, really don’t need to follow all those 10 steps, but pampering r skin with a face mask twice a week will be very helpful too. I love sheet masks, but I also like doing DIY face masks because they’re a lot cheaper! Here’s one I suggest try–DIY Glowing Face Mask. You’ll only need 4 tsp. of lemon and 3 tbsp. of honey to do this.

8. Eat Healthy

Truth is, even if we have the best skincare and makeup products if we don’t eat right, that will show in our skin. Your diet is a critical component of r skin’s glow. So, this summer, make it r goal to always eat healthy meals and try as much as can to follow a well-balanced diet. I know summer is a very tempting season to chow down junk food, but must resist the urge.

Also, take Vitamin B, C, and D which basically slow the signs of aging from showing, help to achieve an even complexion and prevent breakouts. By practicing a healthy diet and taking vitamins regularly, ’re sure to get a healthy skin and a healthy natural glow!

9. resopretty.com/full-body-workouts/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>Exercise

Exercise is widely known for its physical benefits, but how exactly does it benefit the skin? Well, healthy blood circulation is always good for the skin. But to go deeper into this, exercising nourishes skin cells as it helps increase the blood flow throughout the body. As may know, blood carries the oxygen and nutrients that the body needs. What may not know is that the blood also carries away free radicals and waste products. So yes, exercising helps in keeping us clean and healthy from the inside! If don’t have a lot of time, can do the 10-minute workout shown in the photo above.

10. Do a Dewy Look

Do know why Koreans pull off the dewy makeup look the best? It’s because it’s pretty much effortless for them. But don’t fret, even if don’t have the most beautiful skin, can still pull off this look. Just one important tip to remember. Wear BB cream instead of foundation. BB cream has a dewy finish compared to foundation, which has a matte finish (mostly). You can also use cushions to achieve a dewy skin finish.

11. Wear Bronzers and Highlighters

How can we live without bronzers and highlighters in summer? We can’t. That is why it’s taking its spot on our list today. A bronzer will give that sunkissed glow which is perfect for women with tan skin. If ’re on the fair side, ’d want to stick to highlighter to give r skin a healthy glow.

12. Spray Facial Mist

You step out of the house looking fresh and glowing. By midday, look like spent a full hour under the heat of the sun. Avoid this scenario altogether by spraying facial mist on the face throughout the day as needed.

Facial mists keep the skin fresh and hydrated. It revives r makeup and can help r skin look moisturized and dewy all day long. Actually, there are facial mists specifically designed to have a glowy, dewy finish. But if want to try r hand at making one, try this DIY Simple Rose Water Facial Mist. Just mix 1/2 tsp. Vitamin E oil, 2 drops peppermint essential oil, 2 drops geranium essential oil, 4 tbsp. pure Moroccan rose water, and 3 tbsp. coconut water.
